Thanks Gareth, looks great. I like his comments about thinking about feelings so we don't have to feel them. I've been doing precisely that this morning 'no, my feelings aren't hurt, I have a whole theory about how this doesn't matter to me at all and I will expound it to myself for a good while now so I don't have to feel my hurt feelings.' Ah.

Hi Jon, I don't understand what Monkey means by that, but it is not what is described on the Raptitude site. The site actually makes a lot of sense. Nothing new though, but he explains it well.

Just poor wording on my part, sorry. He says that is our tendency, that if we have a difficult feeling we will try to think it away rather than feel it. And that turning towards or opening to the feeling is a more productive approach. So I was saying that I recognised that just before reading the article I'd been doing exactly what he described, and if I turned towards my feeling I could see that I was feeling hurt and that all my thinking to push that away was not very helpful.
