Hi all!
Just thought I would pop up to say hello. I am new to this forum and I am in the early stages of learning how to practise mindfulness in my daily life.
I first became aware of mindfulness last year and during a period of depression began meditating. I was astounded by how differently I felt - both physically and psychologically - after simply meditating and going out for mindful walks. Alas, I started back at work and did not make the time to practise mindfulness. I am hoping that by posting on here every now and then it will spur me on to make the time - after all, the way I see it is that a minute in a mindful mind is much longer than a minute in a distracted mind.
I thought it may help myself and others who may be on the first steps of this journey to hear from some of you who have been living mindfully for a while now about some of your early experiences? It would be interesting to hear about some of the challenges you encountered initially whilst beginning to practise mindfulness and how you got over them.
Look forward to speaking to you

Hi Becky,
Welcome to our community. Please feel free to make yourself right at home here.
I came to mindfulness in 2012 at a time when many things in my life seemed to be collapsing around me. I benefitted hugely by doing an 8-week group course in Brighton at the start of my mindfulness journey. That gave me a very firm grounding in the practice.
Since that time I've practiced formally just about every single day and the difference it's made to my life is immeasurable.
For me, the keys are regular practice, constant curiosity and patience. The rest simply follows.
All good things,
Jon (somewhere in a tent outside Lewes)
