Great point, Jon! I'm going to meditate on that song. It triggers all kinds of responses.

I'm finding it really interesting (I'm curious ) that this time around (after really not enjoying doing body scan) I am not only enjoying it (mostly) but I feel it's really helped me learn to ground myself and relax my body, I feel my mind begin to calm when my body relaxes.
I'm so glad that I tried it again

Hi Happy,
Sometimes it takes hitting rock bottom to really surrender. Which is sometimes what it takes to really accept.
You're doing great, Happy!

Yes, I think it does. The only place to go is up
I'm getting much better at accepting where I'm at right now and not being too judgmental or harsh with myself when I discover that I'm not currently in in present moment. I've always been pretty critical of myself.
Thanks for the feedback, it really does help.
Have a great weekend.

I've done the Mark Williams body scan (long one) this morning. I really enjoyed it and found his voice to be very calming and clear. I am very much benefitting from this practice and find that it suits me at this time. It's my 'go to' anchor and most regular formal practice.

I experienced sensations on some parts of my body (particularly the ears) that I've never felt before.
During body scan, as I became more relaxed and calm (thoughts kept arriving and I mostly was able to acknowledge them and let them be, so off they went) my awareness seemed to 'bloom' (if that's a way to describe it? maybe intensity would be more apt?) and when I tuned in to body parts I sensed tingling, throbbing, thrumming and a real sense of the part (my ear and the ear canal and beyond) that felt bigger and 'real'.
During the day if I want to sense my feet I can actually 'feel' them! It's a whole new thing for me, like for the first time ever I've discovered that I can actually feel sensations on body parts and know they're there, rather than only ever knowing about my little toe if I stub it on the side of a chair!

That's great to hear, Happyogababe.
I find also with the body scan that it makes me appreciate parts of my body that, ordinarily, I wouldn't think once about, let alone twice. I mean, how often do we actually think about our toes? But try walking without them!
Knees. Funny looking things but useful.

I agree, I've never thought about my toes before, unless I hurt one and then I sure knew it was there. Knees, are incredible. I don't get much sensation around them yet. It's very interesting and makes me curious so that's a good thing.
