New to this, and maybe need some reassurance. :)

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

Does anybody find that meditation has increased the number of dreams they have, or made them more vivid, or more memorable?

Obviously due to the situation with my nephew I am worried for my family, mostly my sister as she is dealing with it directly.

I had a really vivid dream last night which has stuck with me.

The dream:
I had driven to just outside the town where she lives and parked up and walked to her house, I picked her up and carried her to the next town to go to a doctors appointment. It was a long way to walk, let alone carry somebody. When we got to where the doctor should be we had to walk through a restaurant to get to the waiting room. At that point she turned into a bat and flew around all over the place while I tried to catch her to take her to the waiting room. Then I noticed some of the diners at the restaurant were turning in to spiders which were climbing up the walls.
I woke up at this point.

I don't know much about dream interpretation, but the way it has stuck with me makes me think it must be telling me something important.

It is praying on my mind today. :(

Hi Lee,

Good question. I haven't noticed anything different about my dreams since I began meditating.

You're very worried, so that is 'good' fuel for bad dreams. I think that is also the reason why you relate more to your dreams. Try to not give it more power than it already has. You've had a bad dream, let it go.

I personally think that dreams can only give us insight into our own psyche, nothing more. It is just your brain rearranging stuff to make more sense of it all.

It's very sad to hear about your situation!
I hope you find some peace!

Please keep us informed!

Peter

Thank you Peter.

I think it is only running around my mind because I am tired.
The dream made it more difficult to sleep, and I was woken early to get my daughter (who has a broken ankle) out of her bunk bed for a toilet trip!

I will try to look at it just like my negative thoughts. :)

That's a good idea, Lee.
