I've never tried posting a quote so don't know if it will turn out or not, but here goes , I was interested by what you wrote because I find since practicing mindfulness that I feel differently myself and my likes have changed alot, like the tv programmes I watch, am watching much less tv, am developing new interests, dabbling at painting and surprising for me am developing a liking for classical music! Never thought that possibel, but through mindfulness when I actually "listen" properly to the music it is beautiful. I have always loved nature but find the senses enhanced through mindfulness and am in awe at the beauty of trees, leaves, flowers, clouds the sky, weather, the list is endless.
I dont think your being selfish, you are mindful of your choices, don't be harsh on yourself, just be "you".
