Can there be some way of using the internet for people to practice mindful sitting together somehow - I dunno, on skype or using some internet wizardry of some sort? I would enjoy this not just if or when I am abroad, but also just to have that group feeling. If the site really gets going and many followers join - like the Mindfulness group on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/groups/7817678925/ - now on 3098 members, then a chat function may also be good.

Some way of bringing all the various mindfulness practitioners together - more than just on a forum would be great I think.

I'm looking into Google hangouts as a possibility for real time mindful meditation sessions.
Any input or suggestions welcome :)

I'm afraid I can't help on the technical side as I'm a computer dunce but I'd be happy to be involved on the meditative side.

That sounds great, Fee, for any others wondering what the potential of this is:

Free video conferencing for up to 10 people.

Video chat with loved ones, from anywhere

Connect with up to nine people at once from your computer or the Google+ mobile app (Android, iPhone). You can doodle with your kids when you’re away from home, play poker with your buddies or share the latest news and see everyone’s reactions.

Does that picture imply that Google is even suggesting this as a way for people to meditate together (not impossible given Google's track record (yes, I have read "Search Inside Yourself* and have been tempted to give a copy to the senior management at work)?
