Hi there.
As some of you already know, I'm soon to embark on a project that I have named The Mindful Pilgrim.
Essentially this will involve me walking around the UK, teaching mindfulness along the way (I qualified to teach upon completion of my training in January this year). The teaching will be given for free to those who have no income and those on low incomes. In the dana spirit, donations will be gratefully accepted from others, but they'll be strictly optional.
Mostly, I will be living out of a tent. I will be accompanied by Banjo, The Enlightened Spaniel. :P
I will have access to internet on my journey and will be carrying a laptop with me, so my involvement with Everyday Mindfulness shouldn't be affected at all.
I'm now gearing up for departure.
The basic idea is that we will spend a few weeks living outdoors in my locality (East Sussex), allowing myself and Banjo to acclimatise (Banjo will particularly miss our nice comfy bed with the four duvets and feather pillows, I'm sure). Then we'll head along the coast towards Kent, veer up the east coast, follow a coastal route to Scotland, then traipse down the west coast before eventually landing back in East Sussex. The walk, I calculate, will take me roughly five years and, I figure, will be unlikely to go to plan in any way, shape or form.
I'll be sure to keep you all informed as to what we're up to. Details of my website/blog will be posted shortly.
Wish me luck. :P
Cheers,
Jon (And Banjo)

Thanks Peter. Much appreciated.
I haven't broken the news to Banjo yet. But I'm sure he'll be happy to tag along so long as there's a bag of biscuits involved. :P

That's some project. I wish you all the luck you can get, and am looking forward to hearing more about your adventures in the future.

Thanks Happy.
Banjo's getting along in years now so he'll set the pace which is not likely to give Usain Bolt any sleepless nights.
If it gets too much for Banjo at any stage I've already budgeted for a pram which I'll push him around in. It'll be interesting to see the reactions of old people when they peek inside the pram to tweak the baby's cheeks only to discover a cocker spaniel having a snooze. :o
Cheers,
Jon

Great idea, Jon. It will be interesting to read your communications as you travel. I know we'll hear from you, but best of luck regardless (whatever that even means on such a trip- who knows what will happen).

Thanks Matt and debbieko.
I think we'll be safe. I've bought a whistle which I intend to blow if we run into any ruffians. And Banjo can get very stern if anyone tries to steal his pork chop. 8-)
