The voice of Mark Williams and the way he brings it, really resonates with me more. Small difference though.

Ah, OK, that's interesting, I'll look forward to trying it tomorrow and I'll let you know what I think. :D

Week 3. I've enjoyed the first 2. I've learned, improved and continue to do so. I'm very much liking the mindful movement :)

"I'm very much liking the mindful movement."

Not a phrase you hear very often. In my experience of group courses, this is the bit that people are most likely to skip and never return to. I've always found it quite challenging, maybe because I have such awful physical co-ordination. You should see me dance. I look like someone trying to put out a fire... :o

It's so slow and utterly spellbinding (to me, at least). It's as though life slows down and I'm aware of an invisible energy force, I can feel it on the palms of my hands. It's unusual but an experience that holds my attention.

Lol re: your dance :D

"It's as though life slows down and I'm aware of an invisible energy force."

That's pure awareness, right there.
As Jiddu Krishnamurti once said, "If you want to know about life, just watch it flow."
Never a truer word...

I liked the mindful movement practice of the book a lot too. It felt a bit like Tai Chi. I have to admit though that I haven't done it since, but that's because I don't really know what to do. In the book it's very limited; mainly some stretches. I would love to do Tai Chi, or yoga, but there's so much already on my plate.

I go about it a little differently, though. I exercise a lot, and do that as mindful as I can. Also while riding my bike and walking. It's easy and nice, because there's a lot to feel.

I was surprised that the book didn't go into mindful walking, since that's part of a lot of other mindfulness courses I know of, and is a very traditional way of meditating. Thich Nhat Hanh promotes it a lot.

Something totally different. I just found out that the FPIAFW book is also available in Dutch. That's great. Now I can advice Dutch people to read that instead of the English version. The language was often felt as a barrier. Although, I've never met a person who actually tried mindfulness after I've told them about it. I've even bought people books as a gift. 'regular' people frown upon it no matter how I explain to them what it is. It's sad that they don't know what they would gain, and the world even. I really think it would solve a great deal of global problems if a lot of people practiced mindfulness. But Jon's right (yet again), mindfulness is caught rather than taught.

Have a great day!

Here's a good link to free guided meditations, which I think include mindful movement. Taravajra and Karunavira are two of my teachers - they expertly guided me through the teaching training course. I'd highly recommend looking into their practice resources.

Peter says, "I've never met a person who actually tried mindfulness after I've told them about it." That's pretty much my experience too. Though, as I've mentioned before, I run a mindfulness meet-up group here in Hove that has almost 500 members now. So I regularly meet people whose practice has lapsed and I guess they're looking for a way to reignite it. Which often happens.
Here in Brighton you could throw a stick down any street and you're likely to hit a mindfulness teacher. We are spoiled in that way. One reason why I'm preparing to take the show on the road, taking mindfulness to people who either can't afford it or who have no easy access to it.
Happy easter!

Regarding this. I'm curious if and how you'll find people that you can teach during the pilgrimage. Any thoughts?

I need to 'run' now. Wife's waiting.
