Thought I would share my first week experiences of the 8 week course.
I am just about managing the 8 minutes twice a day, but sometimes it is 20 minutes once a day. I have learned to relax and not block too much out and value the times my mind wanders.
We all try to sit at different places at the dinner table, which is fun.
I pay attention to when I walk the dogs to the beach . Not the whole hour but one specific stretch of the journey. Becoming aware of the way my body feels while outside walking is quite a revelation. I can feel my feet and the muscles moving my legs. The cold air outside on my face and blowing through my sweater. My increased breathing. As soon as my mind wanders all these feelings melt away and I seem to be far less concious of them. When I bring myself back to focus on my body its like someone turning up the volume on all my bodily senses.
Looking forward to week two.
Nick

That's great to hear, Nick. Sounds like you've taken to it like a fish to water.
