With a lot of encouragement from Gareth, I have started a Facebook page for Everyday-Mindfulness, the purpose of which is purely to drive people to this website. So please post anything you like on it, tips, good links to blogs and articles, great quotes, good pictures, videos etc. Also get as many people as possible to 'Like' the page so they get our feeds on their wall, and drive traffic to the page. Any suggestions for improving it gratefully received (it's my first attempt at doing anything like this, and I know I know only a small part of all there is to know). Particularly interested if anyone has better jpeg for the 'Cover photo' where I've used a classic pebble picture, or for our 'Logo' (where I used a bubbles in water-cooler picture, partly because it did seem a place where one could practice everyday mindfulness, and partly to link up with the 'bubbles' on this site).
You can find it by putting everyday-mindfulness in the search box on Facebook or via this link (I hope) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Everyday- ... 8794837291

Great start!
I love your signature by the way. Can I modify it slightly and Tweet it?

Yes of course, it's from Andy Puddicombe from Headspace, he has a fantastic short animation to explain meditation, and that's the analogy he uses , the video is only 1 minute but it's very powerful and stays with you as an idea. I find it useful for explaining what I'm doing to other people,
as Andy says "If you’ve just watched the Blue Sky animation, then in all likelihood you will be smiling to yourself right now, nodding your head in recognition, saying something like “Oh yeah, that’s so true!”. It doesn’t matter who I show that video to, or where I am in the world, the reaction is nearly always the same. And there’s a very good reason for that. What we are talking about here is an innate aspect of mind, something that is universal, that we all share. Of course, this is not new information, but somehow we forget about this innate quality, and so to be reminded about it can feel like a truly wonderful thing."

Hi Barbs,
I'm new to the forum, thanks for setting up the facebook page! I run http://www.freemindfulness.org which hosts free mindfulness meditations and other resources, I think the pebbles picture you have is one of ours If you're looking for an image that fits better for top, try here: http://www.freemindfulness.org/gallery - there are a couple of pictures that are a bit more rectangular, and if you click on the images you get the full-size version. Everything there's free to use. I added the one at the bottom of the water droplets on the flowers this morning which might fit okay.
I might not be too active on the forum in the short term as I'm in the final few months of completing a thesis/doctorate, but hope I can support the forum more as time goes on. Great to see an active community developing.

Peter, those photographs are amazing. The one of the bird on the hill has made my weekend!
Thanks so much.
All best, Jon

Those pictures are beautiful, thank you so much for sharing

Thanks for the lovely images Peter, I'm trying the water drops one now (although I must admit a personal preference for pebbles!). What do other page users think?
