Exciting times! A web developer has decided come on board with this project, he likes the idea so much that he is giving his time for free. Andy is also on board and we will be meeting in the next few weeks to flesh out ideas for the site. This idea came to me lying on the sofa 6 months ago, my original aim was an organisation concerned with promoting mindfulness as a way to bring peace to people's lives. I have since had thoughts of making this a charity - I really don't want it to be anything to do with making money. I have really high hopes for this site, mindfulness is giving me relentless optimism. All along, I have wanted this to be a community project, so I want to ask if you have any ideas for the site?

Also, we are really not sure about the name. Everyday Mindfulness is good; it kinda describes what the site site is about. I particularly like the every day/ everyday thing. Somehow it doesn't feel quite right though. If there was ever a time to change the name of the project it would be here, right at the start. Again, I want to canvas opinion on names. There have been one or two things that Andy and I have thought of. What do think of them? If you have other suggestions then please contribute with them. Here are the best couple that we have come up with so far:

1. Mindful Life
2. Mindful Space

Tell us what you think of them, and come up with some suggestions of your own.

Great! Lucky I saw this because I was going to make a start on these vids and I don't want to plug an old name haha.

I love what's already on the site, the description for everything, the blogs. As long as there's a BIG link button to the forum then I say you're all set.

I like the idea of shortening the name. See what rolls off the tongue... I like "Live Mindful" ... although that could be read as LIve or Liv (I hope you're getting my phonetics haha) saying it to introduce a youtube vid is very catchy.

"livemindful.org"

Or even, it may not even have to say Mindful at all. It's not like Tango screams fizzy orange...the product and the way it's marketed made it this way. If the twitter account is @MindfulEveryday and I create a Facebook and Youtube with the same name, the site could be called

"mindspace.org" as an example...yeah I know that sounds like Myspace. But two syllables always seems to have a good ring....

Also, is there a way I can set up a signature on this forum? Would be great if we could all stick names to faces by having Twitter accounts at the bottom of our posts or something. Pigpinkfan for example messaged me two days after I started following her to say she just clocked who I was haha

Hi everyone

Some really interesting ideas and thoughts already. I'm really excited about taking on a role as forum administator - or forum champion as Gareth named me. I have some ideas I'd like to get some feedback on too.

First up, there is a signature option in your profile Rara. Click on the user control panel at the top left hand of the page. Then click on the profile tab and there is an edit signature option. ;)

I like the idea of members who are on twitter adding their user name there if they want too and will go edit my own signature in a minute to add mine. I wondered if people might like the option to have an avatar? I think they can help the reader identify other users more readily, plus they are another way to personalise your experience of the forum.

I'm also going to endevour to start finding more links to articles for the resources section and hope others will share what they find, read, watch :D Is scope for some kind of 'healthy living' board perhaps featuring threads about Tai Chi and yoga? What about an 'off topic' board here in Everything Else to allow us all to get to know each other better and talk about other things that are important to us.

Finally (!) I like 'live mindful' as a name, it sounds good and sticks in the memory :D

I realise I'm fairly new to the forum, but I'd like to offer my support in whatever way I can.

I also like "Live Mindful" - simple and direct.

Hi there.
I'm new to this site.
Thanks for welcoming me.
Hope you don't mind me sticking my two penn'worth in.
"Live Mindful" is nice & snappy. But shouldn't it be "Live Mindfully", strictly speaking.
I'd say it would make a lot of sense to have "mindfulness" in the name. That way, the forum will be easy to locate for anyone looking for such a forum via Google etc.
Here's a few off the top of my head.
Go Mindfulness
Just Mindfulness

Good point Jon. Gareth is looking into the SEO side of things but I see your point. Surely mindfulness and mindful would get similar results these days though? Now that Google is promoting more "original content that's regularly updated". I also feel that too many syllables is the main problem in promoting it in the first place...as most sites/social networks are short and sweet. The web domain never really has to spell out what a site is about either. I mean "Twitter"... sort of a basic slang that references around the concept....

Good point too, Rara.
I mentioned this forum to my teacher, Nick, whom I'm doing the eight-week course with in Brighton.
He said to me that it would be useful to have a link to the website so he could pass it on to his students on each course. So I'll pass that on to him at the next session. Hopefully the word will soon spread.
