Re: New to forum

I too have depression and the last couple of years have been particularly bad ones. What I found though, without a doubt, that the experience of doing a sitting meditation, or bodyscan for that matter to be of great use in combatting rumination which is the one thing that perpetuates depression. I f...

Re: getting off psyche meds.

Sorry to have been out of touch for so long. I went through an horrific withdrawal (although I reinstated almost straight away) and its taken until now to arrive at a feeling or stability, such is the power of these drugs. What im doing now is a very slow, careful taper (the sort that most medics wo...

Re: getting off psyche meds.

Dear Polly. thankyou so much for that reply[quote=" . Intentionality eventually becomes reality if you persevere. [/quote] I really liked that thought because in the midst of all this the temptation is to leave it all aside as you don't notice any benefits. So you go through the motions anyway ...

Re: getting off psyche meds.

Many thanks Mick for your reply, you seem to be the person on the forum who has great experience to fall back on and give wise advice. Im sure that all you say is true. Re: getting off psyche meds.

I think that this topic is a bit irrelevant for mindfulness really. ive found another forum called surviving anti-depressants that is more useful in this case. But I still see that the practice of mindfulness is a winner in the long run. Just that I need to deal with the pressing problem of facing d...

getting off psyche meds.

I first got in touch a few months ago having the ambition to use mindfulness to replace the psyche meds I have been on for too long. I eventually found what appeared to be a good time a few months ago. I had previously found that using lots of meditation to counter the rumination of depression drast...

Re: mindfulness, cbt and acupuncture...too much?

I think that mindfulness and cbt at the same time is unwise, unless you have unlimited time and energy to devote. I happened to find myself put on the 2 courses at the same time and it was pointed out to me that it wasn't a good idea. So I went for mindfulness and found it far better for the sort of...
