great analagy and a real insight Suryacitta thankyou. This seems to be a much better approach, to explore the physical feelings rather than 'throw a blanket on. My real problem is the horrible thoughts I have about my eye floaters are there nearly all the time, from the moment i wake till the moment...

Hi, thanks for the reply. I do acknowledge and accept the anxiety but i am unsure as to why i should 'stay' with the anxiety rather than reducing it though deep breathing :?

Hello everyone, its been a while since my last post although i do read everyday. I suffer from bouts of anxiety attacks, this is normally when i see eye floaters on a sunny day and a huge wave of anxiety / panic comes over me. Thanks Mick :-) The actual floaters dont bother me physically, they do not interfere with my vision much at all, it is the anxiety they create that im trying to manage - its irrational anxiety because i am aware that they are not serious Im confident that mindfullness will find a way but need guidan...

you'll learn how to be with the anxiety, how to experience it without it becoming overwhelming. mindfulness will help you to see those anxiety causing thoughts as thoughts and not facts. though it does take time and practice to get there. mick I think this quote above from Mick is absolute key and ...

Can anyone expand on this reply. I have horrible bouts of anxiety when i see something on the news etc and deep breathing really calms me down especially when im mindfull of the deep breaths that i take, for instance i will breath in deep,hold for 4 seconds and breath out for 12 seconds which trigge...

Thanks for all your replies, im only beggining this journey and am very excited as it is the only thing that can really calm anxiety. At 43 years old, i wish i had discovered this sooner. I did enrol on a 6 week mindfulness course organised byt the Adult Education Center in UK and it was really bad....
