Re: Upper back pain

Thanks Jon. Sometimes I sit in a kind of slouched position, or sit right back in a comfortable chair instead of being perched and errect on the edge of the chair and the pain lessens, but me being my normal rigid/black & white self just assumed I had to be sitting as advised by Andy @ Headspace,...

Upper back pain

Hey fellow mindfulnessers (have I just coined a new word? Let's hope not). I've fallen on and off the mindfulness based meditation bandwagon more times than I can to remember. But I promised myself that from February the 1st I'd give it another go. Haven't missed a day yet. However, the pain I have ...

Re: Some tips needed please

I have a few thoughts to offer (pun intended), but first I'd like to ask you what brings you to meditation to begin with? Why do you think it's important, and how do you hope it affects your life? Suffering with debilitating anxiety/overwhelming emotions in many social situations (especially with t...

Mindful Wristbands

Had a quick look on google to try and find and find mindful based wristbands so every time I notice it I pause to take a breath to see where my mind and body is.

Found a couple but none were really what I am looking for.

Has anyone on here ever come across any mindful based wristbands?

Cheers.

Some tips needed please

I just realised this morning that I have been practising mindfulness for nearly 3 years now and after falling off the wagon yet again *rolls eyes* I am still viewing the formal meditating side of the practice as a chore, rather than a gift to myself. Often during the day I say to myself "bugger...

Re: Awareness of thoughts?

Just to tag a little on to JAndre's JKZ quote... Unfortunately I'm not one of the lucky ones who retains information too well. I have to read stuff dozens of times before it sinks in. I really struggled understanding the concept of mindfulness. So I copied down a sentence I heard JKZ say and committ...

Re: panic attack/anxiety

NP, I had virtually the same experience as you so please don't worry and ruminate about your anxiety. I was in a sales meeting, it was my time to speak (admittedly I had a terrible hangover, but this had been coming to a head for a long time) and I got about halfway through my first sentence, went b...

Re: Working with anxiety

I'm sorry to hear about your challenges. I know it doesn't do much good when you are caught in the moment, but it will pass. Nothing is permanent, but your mind will try to convince you that it is, which makes everything a thousand times worse. If you remember nothing else when you are in the middl...

Re: Anxiety Worse after after 2 weeks of Mindfulness program

ACC, I would definitely recommend a book called At Last A Life by Paul David. Paul is an ex-sufferer of anxiety. Believe me when I say I have tried everything (initially to beat anxiety. Took years to learn that's the exact wrong tactic as it becomes a vicious circle and makes things worse) includin...
