Re: What is all that tension I feel during sitting meditatio
Sam, I am very grateful for your reply, thank you so much for taking the time to write that up for me. The metaphor about the child in distress really resonated with me. I used to do body scans fairly often and they helped me to feel so much more centered and grounded throughout my day. I don't know...

What is all that tension I feel during sitting meditation?
Hi all! While there are short periods of time during my formal meditation of breath where I am calm and relaxed, for about 90% of it I experience intense and uncomfortable feelings. It's almost as if I can feel anxiety pulsing throughout my body. As soon as the meditation ends, it disappears like ma...

Re: First time experiencing euphoria...kind of scary
Jon and David, Thank you both so much for your insightful answers! It's good to know that this was a relatively common/expected occurrence. I really have been going into my meditation practice with the intent to let all experience be as it is, so striving for this feeling again hasn't been an issue ...

First time experiencing euphoria...kind of scary
Hi all! Today something really odd occurred. I was doing a 25 minute mindfulness meditation (focusing on my belly), and I had a first time experience. Maybe about 10 minutes into it, i had this feeling like my consciousness went "up" (It's hard to explain!). I starting perceiving bright or...

Re: Mindfulness and Addiction
Interesting...thanks so much for sharing. Do you mind sharing a few tips on ways you were able to "let that feeling be?". What kind of mindfulness exercises did you practice to help you?

Re: What Are Your Favourite Mindfulness Resources?
I have come across a few university websites over the years with amazing mindfulness meditation resources. They have many guided meditations free to download. I would check them out if you have a chance! Most of these are through the university's counseling center or stress reduction clinic. (just G...

Re: Where to focus attention on breath?
My opinion would be that wherever you experience the breath is the right place to experience it. It's all happening in the present moment. Very true Gareth! The only thing is that when meditating, there may be some utility in keeping your focus on one anchor the entire session. That way you can gai...

Re: Where to focus attention on breath?
I was thinking about this deeply today and I think I answered by own question. I wanted to write it out here to get any opinions and to help anybody with the same question who happens to come across this. So, it's important to remember that there is no right or wrong way to do mindfulness. Its not n...

Re: Anxiety burst during breath meditation
From you writing that your anxiety requires constant attention, is it possible you are struggling/fighting against your feelings? I would invite you to use midnfulness to give you space to simply allow your anxiety to be with you, and go on and do what you care about in life. Use mindfulness to look...
