Re: Internal dialogue

Thank you guys so much. It is really nice to see such kind and understanding responses. Sometimes this forum serves as a little anchor for me when I am caught up in my monkey mind, now I just really need to work on my anchor within the body itself :P After reading your responses I have already begun...

Internal dialogue

Hello! I was wondering what people do when they meditate in terms of the internal commentary that the mind continuously creates. When the audio tells me to focus on my breath or the sensations in my body or the sounds that I can hear I naturally go "Okay listen to your breath, that is your brea...

Re: Mindful Podcasts

Hi Debbie!
I have been listening to some of Tara Brach's talks. There is a huge back catalog of some amazing stuff :) Often at the end of a talk there is a short meditation which is nice too

Re: Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach

Hi Peter, I would say that I definitely have OCD tendencies although I have never been formally diagnosed. When I wrote that last post I was having a pretty hard and emotional week. It's not so much that she gets me to a desired state it is that when I listen to her talks I really begin to feel a se...

Re: Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach

I totally relate to what you are saying Monkey but am still stuck in that gap. I am feeling very, very overwhelmed and obsessive. When I listen to Tara I feel calm, the world makes sense, I feel hopeful and yet as soon as I stop listening it all seems to fall away and a sense of chaos comes back. To...

Re: Obsessive Tendencies

Thanks so much for your recommedations! MiM - Honestly thank you so much! I have now been on Tara's website and already listened to two of her talks. I can't really describe how right it feels to listen to her speak, but it is as if all the gaps, insecurities, and concerns I have had since beginning...

Obsessive Tendencies

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has any teachers or meditations they could recommend for letting go of obsessive tendencies. From a young age I have constantly exhibited behaviours that allow me to feel some sense of arbitrary control over my life, from counting how many shakes of salt I add t...

Re: Is the goal to be mindful every waking moment?

I was starting to analyse and scrutinise every thought or internal commentary throughout the day which is exhausting and frustrating! I seem to have been constantly doing this recently and have been practicing for almost four months! Does anyone have any tips for this? It is getting very exhausting...

Re: I'm really struggling right now..

Hi Aly, I know this is a delayed response but I just wanted to send a little message to say I really relate to all the issues you have described. I also think redoing the course is such a great piece of advice! Unlike you I have only been practicing for about four months and my 8 week Mark Williams ...

Moving forward...Where to next?

Hello, I am in need of some advice! I am in week eight of Mark Williams book/meditations and I would like to know of any ideas of where to go next :D At this stage in my practice I am feeling like a young seedling still (and on bad days like a doomed person who will just never GET the whole mindfuln...
