Re: Mindful mojo.

I only do formal meditation at home for about 15 Minutes a day. I do walking meditation for about an hour a day. I do breathing Meditation and mindfulness practice in public transport about 30 Minutes a day. I always do mindfulness/breathing/headspace meditations whenever I start feeling stressed wh...

Re: Decentering Thoughts/Emotions and Deciphering Reality

Well, Thi Nath Hanh is a Buddhist zen monk. While he has the same idea and concept of mindfulness as for example Jon Kabat Zinn his interpretation of the whole subject is not the same. The theory behind our western mindfulness practice is profound ( and the best thing that has happened to me in my l...

Re: 'Acknowledge what is on your mind, then return to the br

From my personal experience I would say that in the very beginning in about 95% of the time I wasn't even able to notice my attention slipping away from breath. The rest of the time (mere 5%, probably less), when I noticed that some thought was forming I shifted my attention from breath to the thoug...

Re: A newbie trying to piece it together!

It's just a question of time and practice. Imagine trying to walk for the first time - you wouldn't expect yourself to do marathons, 100m sprints and rhythmic gymnastics on a competitive level within a month or so, would you?

Re: Can you feel your brain?

Thank you very much for your answer jon. I know I am not my brain, as much as I'm not my left arm or right leg. But when I'm smiling I get a definitive feeling of something happening in my brain as much as when I'm lifting weights I feel the specific muscles being stressed. You don't have that feeli...

Can you feel your brain?

Hello everyone. I do have a question about how your brain feels when you are meditating. Lately I do have a very strange sensation of being able to activate or relax different parts of my brain. As in feeling physically different parts of my brain doing different jobs. Smiling for example feels like...

Relation between Mindfulness and Serotonin?

Okay, so here I am. First of all apologies for my subpar English. I’d like to talk about myself for a minute so just to give you a rough frame to what I am going to talk about. I’m a 33 year old male and consider myself a spiritual person. Not the “I believe kind” but more of the scientific type who...
