mindfulness of mental images

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

It's not appropriate of me to have assumed that all who post in the beginners forum are themselves beginners; obviously some like JonW, piedwagtail etc are not beginners, they're helping beginners. I only wanted to point out to those who are actually beginners that mindfulness (meditation) can be practiced using several techniques such as focused-attention, open-monitoring / choiceless awareness and other similar methods. The techniques may vary but the end and the purpose are the same

The Jon Kabat-Zinn model seems perfectly calibrated to me.
Over-thinking this is simply more stress, more self, more chasing one's own tail.
