Hello Everyone,
I've been practicing Mindfulness for around 5 months now and I've been reading this forum for most of that time, which has been a great help. I initially came to Mindfulness to help deal with stress, social anxiety and chronic depression and I have been noticing steady improvements in these and other areas. The first book I read on the topic was "Mindfulness Plain and Simple", but since then my Kindle has been filled with books on the topic. I think the book that really got me to see Mindfulness as a way of life more than merely a self help technique was "Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World" which was the second book I read on Mindfulness. It's really surprising how your perspective can change when you just be and notice without judging and doing.
I think this is a wonderful community that helps so many people like me who may not post or even register. This forum has helped me to understand the concept of mindfulness at least as much as any of the books I've read on the topic and to keep practicing even in times when I don't feel like it's "working". Thank you.

It warms my heart to think that there might be people just like you who are reading this forum without posting and getting support for their emerging practice.
Despite it's simplicity, mindfulness is a really tricky concept to get your head around at first. I'm glad that seeing the others' experiences has helped you.
I am 3 years into my practice, and it's still making improvements to my life. Life is not always easy of course, but mindfulness continues to give me the resources I need to deal with life's challenges (I had those resources all along).
