After a full day of mindfulness (12 hours of meditation and 2 hours of mindful movements), I've noticed a lucidity to my mental performance, with so much more clarity and considerably less mental fog. Distractions have diminished capacity to pull my attention away from an object of focus. Concentration is remarkably effortless. It has become easier to comprehend new insights as they arise, and at the same time, to watch neutrally as they subside.
As mentioned by the OP, I've found that after mindfulness of this scope and magnitude, I'm able to work more intelligently.

Well, good luck with the twelve-hour marathon, Enigma.
Forgive me for asking but...
Do you allow yourself a half-time sandwich and/or lavatory break?

Mindful eating and mindful "elimination" are not excluded.
"...when going forward & returning, he makes himself fully alert; when looking toward & looking away... when bending & extending his limbs... when carrying his outer cloak, his upper robe & his bowl... when eating, drinking, chewing, & savoring... when urinating & defecating... when walking, standing, sitting, falling asleep, waking up, talking, & remaining silent, he makes himself fully alert."
