BioSattva got me thinking when he posted about how the phrase "doing it right is accepting doing it wrong" helped him remain mindful.
I started to wonder. What phrase or line of poetry would I choose if, say, I was making a plaque for my bedroom wall or a sign to prop up on my desk? Or even if I was choosing a tattoo. Something that would remind me to be mindful whenever I glanced at it.
I considered the following:
"Spring comes, and the grass grows by itself."
"Flow with whatever may happen."
"Where we are is where we need to be."
"See the thoughts and let them go."
"May it be all as it is."
"Between no longer and not yet."
"Become the flow."
"Let things be as they are."
After some internal debate I went for the phrase that spoke to me most clearly and most succinctly.
"Just this."
Your suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks, Jon

I have gone through plenty of them .
More recently I have liked this one when noticing I am getting scuked into clingy thoughts:
"Lighten the load and be fluid and free".
Some zen teachers have spoken about 'fluidity of mind' sometimes. The mind takes on the shape of whatever vessel is containing it at whatever moment.

Excellent, BioSattva. You've inspired me to take my leave from the desk and go walk Banjo along the beach. Cheers!

Mine is from the film The Way which resonated a lot with me.
You don't choose a life, you live one.
You don't choose a life, you live one.
“Being mindful means that we take in the present moment as it is rather than as we would like it to be.”

This is a sentence I am using at the moment:
"In mindfulness there is no fighting".
I use it as a reminder to work with compassion and acceptance more.
