Why do they usually take years or decades?
You just do nothing, thats it, whats the problem?
So my question is why isnt it this easy cause it is but also it isnt, why isnt it?
Mindfulness couldnt be more easy, so why dont people just get it instantly or in a day?

It's a simple practice but maintaining that practice can be challenging for some people.
Mindfulness cultivates a whole different way of being which involves turning towards experience and being present rather than turning away from experience and living life on auto-pilot. That takes time and patience. It's a genuinely transformative practice. Anything that is genuinely transformative takes time. It's not for people who demand a quick fix. It needs to be gently and gradually folded into one's life. The benefits are many and it brings many unexpected gifts. But, like anything worthwhile, it requires persistence.
All best,
Jon

Im not gently folding it Jon, im cramming it through the letterbox , Im putting in 10+ hours a day I want this bad lol (OCD mindfulness)
I cant get it with skill alone but my awareness is getting stronger, the longer u try for the easier it stays on though in a single day. Hopefully my brain will change and stay this way non stop automatically, the sooner the better but it will take as long as it takes I guess. As long as those brain/biological adaption needs.
Big heart for you again brother you are super kind to help like this!!
