I'm originally from Latvia, but for almost 2 years now I've been living in Belfast, U.K. Before that I lived in Iceland and well before that I was travelling through Europe. Four years ago I found out that I don't like my life, I had two jobs, a fiancee, an apartment, a car and well.. a pretty good prospects, but it wasn't me. I didn't want it. So one day I woke up and realised that if I don't change something right now, it will be too late. And so I left it all behind and went travelling, as a volunteer, doing everything I was afraid of..even milking cows! And I was terrified of them! And now I look back and understand that this was the best decision in my life.
And it was all thanks to a random video I stumbled upon on the internet - it was talking about mindfulness and asking the same questions I was asking myself - is there more to life than just working, eating and sleeping? Why are we here? It changed my perception of myself and everything around me.
Now I'm writing a blog about the information of the same author whose video I watched that day. But in my blog I look at it from the point the point of view of attention. Because, well, attention it is who we are, it's our psyche, it's not your body, your brain or your eyes that are reading this text - it's your attention.
Now every day I get to talk and share my thoughts on mindfulness and conscious living, discipline and meditation with people whom I've never met and it's a blessing! I learn every day. I learn about myself and about others. This journey never ends!
