What does it feel like to you at its best?

Post here if you have been practising for a while, and you are starting to get your head around what this is all about. Also post here if you are a long-term practitioner with something to say about the practice.

To me its like a hard drug, its that good but its so hard to get that level. Most of the time I can boost mood but not get the mega high's.

How does meditation feel to you when its gone as well as youve ever experienced?

Also why do some people say it makes them feel happy and some say serene to me its both but happy is the next level up in proficiency over serene

I don't even think about it.
Mindfulness isn't about attaining a particular state, reaching different levels or becoming proficient. It's simply about being with experience as it arises.

Unfortunately it IS about attaining a state but if you have that attitude ull never get it, you have to fool your own brain to get it almost.

Ok so you say its not about happiness, its not about feeling good and getting rid of negative emotions. But it IS.

If it was just about watching bad feelinsg and that didnt result in us being happy and getting rid of negative emotions no one would do it.


It is about attaining a happy state and getting rid of a negative ones.


But to do that you have to almost pretend your not doing that, and then hopefully fooling your brain, and if you fool your own brain then you can get rid of the negative feelings and attain happiness.

Its better than drugs! No hangover. Difficult to reach that amazing state. Haven't managed it in a few years now but never stop trying.
