Hi all - I am working on my final research project for my Masters in Psychology at the University of Derby under the supervision of Dr William Van Gordon and I am seeking participants for a study entitled: Authenticity in mindfulness-based applications (MBAs): A Qualitative Exploration of Participants’ Experiences.
In order to qualify for the study, you will need to be currently based in the UK and using a mindfulness-based application* (for example, Headspace) for at least 5 minutes per day on three or more days per week for the past month.
This study involves attending an online interview either on a one-to-one basis or with up to 4 other individuals, which will be scheduled at your convenience. I will be conducting the interview, which will last for approximately 30-45 minutes and will feature questions intended to explore your experiences of using MBAs and learning mindfulness. With your consent, the interview will be audio-recorded.
Based on the experiences of using online/digital mindfulness apps, the study aims to investigate whether individuals who regularly use MBAs feel that they are receiving an authentic rendering of the technique, including in respect of the content provided on the app and the instructor/s’ ability to teach mindfulness effectively. The study also aims to explore whether participants of MBAs felt they experienced any negative effects due to participation in the mindfulness-based intervention.
A key benefit of the research will be an improved understanding around issues of authenticity in the use of MBAs, which will help to improve the quality and effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions for future participants.
If you have further questions, or are interested in participating in the study, please DM me or contact me at j.farley1@unimail.derby.ac.uk and I can send you further information. Please do feel free to share with anyone who might be interested.
Kind regards
Jess Farley

Looks interesting, Jess.
I don't use those apps myself but, hopefully, some of our forum members will be willing participants in your research.
Best of luck with it all,
Jon
