Mindfulness game "Plants"

'I see the game Plant as a tool to stay on the path of mindfulness.'

Well, good luck with it. Personally, I'd recommend that people give tricks and tools a miss, and stick with the intention of actually meditating every day.
As a mindfulness teacher I meet people who do an eight-week course, then choose to put meditation on the back burner, instead dabbling in 'mindfulness' colouring books and similar 'tools', in the belief that they are continuing their practice. It strikes me as deluded, and I don't see any evidence that these 'tricks and tools' actually make any difference.

I put Meditation over tricks and tools. Meditation is powerful and, in my opinion, important.
But whatever tool may help, helps. :)

Just out of interest, rogerty, how long have you maintained a regular mindfulness practice? And how did you go about learning it? With a teacher? Via a book? Other?
It would be interesting to hear how you fold something like 'Plants' into your daily practice.

hi Jon, thanks for your continuing interest in Plants (and me).
(warning: the following text might be a bit off topic) I started being aware of mindfulness about 8 years ago I think. I have picked it up from several different magazines.
I have noticed that several things can be used to maintain a focused mind while meditating, for example a mantra, a thought or focus point). Besides meditating there are activities that can create a flow like state of mind, examples can be: cleaning, running and playing certain games.
Besides activities, the way of thinking is also important, I have noticed. Remove as much as judgmental thinking and respect other people's way of doing things.

From time to time, it's useful to clarify certain practices, especially for newcomers to mindfulness who may be confused by references to certain apps, mantras etc. that are not part of the conventional mindfulness teaching (Kabat-Zinn, Williams, Penman etc.)
