Question

Please post your mindfulness stories here and your story might also feature on our blog (with your permission). You can also introduce yourself here. We want to create a library of mindful journeys and experiences.

Hi all
Having heard a lot about Mindfulness I have just begun to try and find out more about it. The resource I have looked at seemed to indicate that there is a requirement to acknowledge a 'higher power'. This is not something I would subscribe to. Wanted to ask other peoples' views on this. Is this something more experienced, or knowledgeable practioners of mindfulness believe or was it just the particular resource I happened to pick up on.

Welcome Chris,

Mindfulness, in the western world, is a secular practice. It is as down to earth as it can be. It has nothing to do with religion.
I'd advise you to read another book. We like to recommend Finding peace in a frantic world.

Good luck,
Peter
