The mindful journey

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

After you have completed a guided course either by book or course and you start to design your own routines going forward, does anyone have any thoughts on practices which should remain part of you weekly practice?

I change my routines every week or so and usually leave room for a practice that I choose on the day depending on mood etc. Should, for example, a breath awareness or concentration practice remain part of your schedule?

Cheers, Dave.

I would say there are no rules nor requirements that should be followed. Do what works best for you. Be flexible, use routine and repetition when that helps but mix it up and experiment too. What we choose to use for mindfulness is not important or significant. Awareness and presence is the only goal.
