He does push it Jon, which I must admit I dont mind sometimes but some of his stand up isn't great. I saw him live in Bournemouth and he wasn't funny.

He did great job though in animals ridiculing the start of the bible.

As a non believer I do like some of the bits he comes out with about religion, and extras was brilliant I thought. What did you interview him about ?

Have you read the Carl Sagan quote before? The above is just the first bit, the rest is just as good.

Cheers, Dave.

It was a general interview, mate. I can't remember what he was promoting at the time. He was a giant pain in the arse to deal with, demanding to see questions beforehand and copy approval, which I've only ever given to politicians like Hague and Osbourne.
The Office was genius but I haven't liked much since. He's a comedy pygmy compared to Stewart Lee or Bill Bailey.

I love the quotes but can't think of any off the top of my head. On a similar note, I write motivational poems sometimes & wonder if anyone would be interested in seeing some of them.

Maybe you can share some of the best in the section 'Mindfulness & Me', Ann.

Thank you very much, Peter. I just thought that as this was the off-topic section that maybe they'd belong in this section & this thread just made me think of the idea. I'm very sorry for derailing the thread.

You are right, Ann. This section is perfect for that purpose. You might want to create your own thread for it.

Since I derailed this thread the other day asking something that didn't belong here, I thought I'd best make up for it by putting something here that does belong here. I found this quote hard to believe until I learnt to slow down.

"No one can make you feel inferior without your permission."

Eleanor Roosevelt.
