I've always found that Enya is really relaxing, but perhaps the lyrics are distracting?

fabiG wrote:Has anybody heard of Cafe del Mar? Moby does appear there as well (Chicane too), it's great ambient music, not in particular for meditation (at least most of the songs do not fit), but it's great to become concentrated or just chill-out...worth checking out...

Cafe del Mar is great to unwind to and help me get me into a more mindful mood, I agree, I wouldn't meditate to it, I like the really ambient stuff for meditation, no lyrics, slow and rhythmic.

Meditating in a landing airplane, while the most ominous parts of "The Good the Bad and the Ugly - soundtrack" plays in your earphones is an interesting experience. Probably not advisable for those who are afraid of flying, or otherwise prone to anxiety.

But I still love Morricones music.

My top list of meditation tracks:

- A Winged Victory for the Sullen
- Steve Reich - Koln Concert
- Deep Chilled Euphoria - Mixed by Red Jerry. Old but very good
- Brian Eno - any of his ambient works
- Tycho - Awake

I've also got a new album out of music for meditation http://mindfulnessforall.com/product/ev ... ust-music/

Sorry, I had to do a little plug :)

Plug away, my friend. :)

'Winged Victory' is great isn't it? I'm particularly fond of 'Steep Hills of Vicodin Tears.'

Going to see 'Stars Of The Lid' soon. Can't wait.

Yes, it's a timeless album.

Enjoy stars of the lid! That will be a great gig :)
