I'm so happy you exist.

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

Hello,

I'm Karen and I am truly am happy I found this place where I can come to find peace and calm. I've been looking for you all my life.

I have meditated on and off since I was a teenager but it seems just when I get grounded and feel good about my life I forget where that came from , get busy and stop meditating. Sometimes it takes me years to remember and begin again.

It's great to know there's a place I can go, ask questions or seek solace.

As I begin again I look forward to the many helpful posts by humans for humans.

My goal now is to stay in the moment and listen to the birds sing their morning songs. I have a chronic illness which has forced me to slow down. I have been fighting it to no avail and decided since that wasn't working maybe I should try something else. (That only took 10 years... )

Because of my monkey mind I am starting back up with guided meditation as it seems to be the only way to focus right now.

I just want to thank you for creating a place where I can be reminded that being human is being human.

Thanks again,
KarenL

Hello Karen,

A very warm welcome, this is a lovely forum and you'll get great support and help.

I have been forced to slow right down too, by chronic illness. The little things in life that I didn't tend to notice have now become real treats.

It's nice to have you here. :)

Hi, Karen.

I too have a chronic illness, so you'll find plenty of people here in your boat.

Your post has made me smile, for it is the exact reason that I set up this forum.

Well, Gareth, I guess the student is ready because you all have appeared.
