Hi All
First of all Thanks to Gareth for starting this we site.

I am 46 years male and new to practicing mindfulness.

Currently I am facing too many problems (health, relationship etc). I feel life us in a mess, feel lost. Been suffering from anxiety and now depression.

I am doing better with anxiety after reading Paul David's book "At last a life".

It seems when I resolve problem the next one pops up.

I was so active and now just feel down and tired.

Please help me understand how mindfulness can help me.

Currently I just sit every morning and watch the thoughts for 10 to 20 minutes. I am not consistent though.

Hi Ajd,
Welcome to the forum. Good to have you on board.
I haven't heard of Paul David's book so I won't pre-judge it.
However, what you almost certainly need is a structured approach to mindfulness so you get the all-important grounding in it.
Best option would be to find a teacher in your area. If that's not feasible, you can try learning from a book that offers a structured course. The one I always recommend is Finding Peace In A Frantic World by Mark Williams and Danny Penman.
If you feel the need to have a chat about it, you can contact me by PM and we can set up a time to talk. It won't cost you anything.
All best wishes,
Jon

Thanks Jon
I am from India (goa). There is no mindfulness teacher in my area.
I am currently reading Mindfulness for the beginners by Jon Kabat-Zinn.

Will check the books you recommend.

OK. The Kabat-Zinn book is a good one.
Meanwhile, please don't hesitate to ask any questions here on the forum.
All best wishes,
Jon
