Quick Thinking?

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

Hi all, i should be on chapter 10 'Trapped in the Past' but i have had some difficulty, ironically with chapter 9 'turning towards difficulties' . my first concern is, as soon as i start to meditate, all those thoughts that are supposed to be floating around ready to be 'looked at', disappear, and so whenever i am called upon to examine them, there seem to be none, so i have to 'call some up' for the purpose, but also whether meditating or not, most of the thoughts i do have, seem to come and go so fast, that i can't pin them down, i have to ignore them, it is only when i think i am ruminating or starting an imaginary scenario i can act on it, have i got the hang of this or not? lol

Hi Gareth, it's Mindfulness, a practical guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World, by Mark Williams & Danny Penman.
