Safe Place Meditation

Post here if you have been practising for a while, and you are starting to get your head around what this is all about. Also post here if you are a long-term practitioner with something to say about the practice.

Hi all,

I hope you're all looking forward to Christmas? :)
I was wondering whether anyone could recommend a link, CD, app etc. which features a "Safe Place Meditation?"
I did this at a meditation class recently and it was absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to practice it again, but I need some guided practice first.

Thank you and keeeeeeeeeep mindful!
Jamie

Hi Jamie,

It may have been a mindful self-compassion meditation. I don't know of any audios, but Paul Gilbert outlines a safe place exercise in his books, and Rick Hanson offers some exercises for fostering feelings of safety in Hardwiring Happiness.

Both are authors I often recommended to those learning to practice mindfulness.
