jerks and twitches when meditating

Hi folks,
I started using Headspace a year ago or so & It's been going well.
However, lately whenever I start my meditation and focus on my breathing movement, I usually notice little jerks/twitches happening in my right elbow after a while (like my right elbow and hand literally jump for a moment, sometimes both hands) & it feels weird to have these uncontrolled movements... I also feel tension in my hands afterwards for like the rest of the day. When I began meditating last year, none of these things would happen !
Is there any scientific explanation as to why it might be happening ?
Also, Can this somehow be a sign of a more serious health issue (seizures or some other health issue) ? I'm starting to get worried about this, as its becoming more & more noticeble and frequent..

Best Regards to all of you, keep up the good work
Ibrahim

Hi Ibrahim,
Good to hear from you.
In all my time as a mindfulness teacher and through extensive reading about meditation, I've never heard of that symptom in connection with meditation practice.
Just to be on the safe side, I'd advise that you arrange a consultation with your GP to discuss.
It would be good to hear how you get along with this.
All best wishes,
Jon

Sounds a bit like TRE. Which is actually a good thing.
I do this sometimes. I find it rather enjoyable.
