Definition of mindfulness

I am a researcher working on research creating a scale of trait “mindfulness.” I really appreciate if you can fill out a questionnaire using the following link. It will take about 10 minutes to complete.

In the meantime, how do you define “mindfulness?” If you can put your personal experience of mediation (e.g., how many years, how frequently, what type of meditation practices) with your answer, it is greatly appreciated. I think each person has different understanding of this concept and I am curious to see how people think of mindfulness based on their own experience.

Hi knoguchi ,
Is it possible for you to provide a little more information about this research project?
Thanks,
Jon

Thank you for asking, Jon.
Other researchers created a questionnaire to measure mindfulness as a chronic individual difference. It means that some individuals are more mindful than others in general. For example, some individuals may be more attentive and less judgmental than others in general. This tendency may be acquired through regular meditation practices. There are some established questionnaires; however, I have a different take on trait mindfulness and am creating a new questionnaire. Thanks for your help.

I was thinking more along the lines of who you are employed by, what the research is for and how the research will be used.
I'd be grateful if you would clarify for the benefit of our members.
Thanks,
Jon

I am sorry... Yes, I should have done it.
The detailed information will be provided when you go to the survey page as a consent form. I am working at the University of Southern Mississippi as an Associate Professor. The data will be used for publication at a scientific journal. Your data will be treated anonymously. I am currently collecting data from experienced practitioners. Thank you so much again.

Thanks Kenji.
I've completed the questionnaire. Nice and easy. Took about 6 minutes.
Hopefully a few other members will follow suit.
All best wishes,
Jon, Hove, UK
