I'm on day 19, I've been very hit and miss with formal sitting in the last week. I have also had some major fatigue issues raising their heads.
So, last night I sat with my electronic calendar and planned everything for the week including my formal practice times. I went back to basics and colour coded it the way I was taught in rehab so I can see at a glance how busy each day is. I am hoping this will help me re-establish daily sitting because I do feel so much better for having done it.
I think I will always come across times in my life when I 'forget' about the challenges both OI and the haemorrhage have left me with, more importantly I forget I can't simply force myself through regardless of pain or other issues they cause. Accepting both that fact and the fact I will forget remains a very challenging but rewarding learning curve.
I will start a new thread for the ext part of the year long Headspace journey and try and keep it updated. As each day builds on the one before I certainly think it will be more helpful to be more consistent.

I've been thinking about this and decided against starting a thread for the discovery series unless something comes up I want to share. I found during the first session I was distracted trying to ensure I remembered everything to document on the new thread and that isn't the point of doing formal practice. I felt relief as soon as I made the choice and have found it easier to focus since

It sounds like this decision was good for you. I know the feeling I think, occasionally during meditation something crosses my mind and then I get a little caught up in it because I'm thinking of how I'd post it on this forum! But of course that is not helpful during meditation. I would be interested to hear if anything strikes you about the discovery series but glad you are not feeling compelled to make a full report
Well so far I am finding the idea of noticing when I get distracted but not engaging with it very helpful. I've just started noting the distraction is a 'thought' or a sensation in my 'body' and returning my focus to the breath. It is starting to make a difference
