Hi fellow practitioners!
I have been meditating for many years, but recently I took a more dedicated approach towards meditation and mindfulness and have since then finished a 8 week MBSR course. I've been experimenting with various types of meditations - body scan, sitting, walking, mountain, loving kindness, gratitude etc. during the course and after.
I now wonder how to structure my regular practice. For example, I consider making a weekly meditation schedule with different types of meditation (20min sitting + 10 min yoga on weekdays, longer 1h loving kindness meditations on weekends) and making sure that I go on at least one retreat a year.
Having said that, I am curious to understand how you plan your weekly, monthly or yearly meditation and mindfulness practice? How do you keep deepening your ability to be mindful?
Warm regards,
Christian
Weekly / monthly / yearly mindfulness and meditation plan
Hi, Christian.
Making your practice more regular is a good idea.
Personally, I don't plan my meditation practice in any way. When the time becomes available, I sit, and I choose a way to practice that feels right on that particular day. I usually vary between breath awareness, mindful listening and choiceless awareness. My meditation time is anywhere between 10 minutes and an hour. This is all backed up by heaps of informal mindfulness too.
