So Hey I’m new 2+ weeks in. Just using guided apps. I have anxiety issues and fear issues. Some have risen but I’m trying to just observe and continue to practice. I read “thoughtbrick” article about dangers of meditation and I got spooked. I like feeling calm.. I’m quite intrigued with the relaxed feeling during meditation but just want suggestions for the emotional and anxiety that arises during the day. Should I take a break and meditation when it arise or just breathe and observe? I’m overthinking everything I’m sure.

Hi Newbee,
Welcome to the forum.
If you have anxiety issues, I would advise taking a more structured approach than simply listening to guided apps. I recommend seeking out a qualified mindfulness teacher or following a book course such as Finding Peace In A Frantic World.
It's very difficult to get a firm grounding in the process without some kind of structured approach.
All best wishes,
Jon

Thank you I’ll check out the book, I’m excited to get into a good routine and the guide apps seem to help explain and break it down it a basic beginner level. The emotional discomfort and fear are something I hope to learn to observe without judgement, I’ve read a lot about people using Mindfulness as a way to release them. This very much interests me but I dont want to get overwhelmed as it so very new for me to allow the feelings to flow. I’ve experience some extreme tension and anxiety so I’m was thinking of incorporating journaling daily.

'I’ve read a lot about people using Mindfulness as a way to release them...'
Yes. Mindfulness is not about goals like release from that which we find uncomfortable. It's about being with what is - good, bad or indifferent. I hope you enjoy the FPIAFW course. And please feel free to ask any questions that arise here on the forum. We will do our best to answer them.
All good things,
Jon

How about the book Full Catastrophe Living? Would you recommend it?

It's an excellent book, Newbee. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is six months or so into practice. It's not a beginner's book. Kabat-Zinn's Wherever You Go...is geared more to beginners.
All best,
Jon
