Hello to everyone on the forum.

Great to find this forum. It 's been some time since I have been part of a forum online.

I am a teacher of O levels, and I have been here for 27 years. I was delighted to find the Sheffield address, as I visit England every year. My Mum lives in Doncaster.

Hope to be able to contribute to and learn from everyone here.

Hi Tony,

What made you decide to do mindfulness, if you don't mind me asking?

Kindly, W.P.

Thanks,JonW and WallPaper for the welcome.

Teaching is and has become a very, very stressful profession! I'm getting on in years and I am getting fed up with my irritability and having to hide it, as a teacher (tolerance, patience)!

I felt a need to work with myself, to come to terms with "things" if that makes sense. I also sense a kind of change needed in my body and mind.

Last year in June,on an impulse, and because it was small and light and cheap and easy to carry, I bought a book called "The Little Book of Mindfulness" edited by Tiddy Rowan. I carry it to school with me and dip into it. I bought it in WH Smiths in York for 4:99.

Since I began reading it, I felt the need to explore further.

Best wishes to all.
