JOT Week 15: Be Glad

Be glad, feel glad, experience gladness. Glad is a word that seems to loose it's meaning if you say it too many things but the experience never seems to get old.

One of the things I did take away from doing Headspace was that there is always blue sky above us, the grey clouds just hide it from time to time. This week I am glad for every glimpse of blue sky I can see no matter how small.

Hi all :)

Sorry I've been so quiet - I feel like I'm really letting the JOT team down a bit

I've been SOOO busy doing my own mindfulness/ meditation program - it's been going so well lately - also doing lots of reading on Zen - doing a new yoga regimen, changing my diet, making lots of progress on my "Year of being a Modern Nomad" (and my "Year of Getting Rid of Possessions"), making good progress on my "getting Zen/ mindfulness more incorporated into my working day and work tasks", doing dog-therapy with my poor ol' ex-stray mutt, and now I'm currently doing a week of fasting, which I started yesterday.

So, while my not contributing here may give the impression that I've been slack, the opposite is the case - it's been a quite an intense time, full of heaps of creative energy and peaceful times.

I've been finding it kinda impossible to do JOT "on top" of that recently, and just been feeling slack/ pressured/ guilty cos of it.

Yesterday I decided "Why don't I just continue to post there, with what I'm doing currently (my version of JOT), until things settle down enough here for me to get back into the JOT flow with you guys".

So I hope that's okay?

Cos I'm definitely still "in the spirit" of JOT - just having a few technical difficulties at the moment, so to speak!

Look forward to sharing in your JOT progress again!

Love,
Janey

Of course it's OK. I don't have time to do the JOT exercises either, but I always read the topics and chuck in my opinion wherever it feels appropriate.

Don't go giving a lady the "glad" eye though. These days, it'll get you into all manner of trouble.
Carefully does it,

Things to be glad about have been thin on the ground so I've grabbed them when I've been able to.

Sorry to hear that. Probably even more important to notice, appreciate and savour the 'glad' moments in these circumstances. It is all to easy to let the negative dominate, particularly if a number of things are not going well. I hope you can find moments of internal serenity whatever is happening in the world outside.

I also like to remember that the sky is always blue above the clouds. Its so much easier to feel glad when the sun is shining and good to remember that is is still shinging even when hiding behind a cloud. Much of the light is still getting through (otherwise it would be dark!) so appreciating the daylight is still possible.
