2 new developments for me

Today my Psychologist recommended that I try the following iPhone app...

http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/the-mind ... 71430?mt=8

... downloaded it and so far quite impressed! Lots of options to choose from, and you can set reminders to carry out meditation. You can also get it to send you messages about being mindful. Nice little App :)

She also talked about meditation stools and cushions, so I decided to order a meditation stool off the internet (from ebay). I don't think the lying down approach is the best for me (it makes me too sleepy lol)! I'll update on the stool when it arrives and I've had the chance to try it.

I think mindful meditation requires a bit of work, and experimentation to get the best setup, but so far I'm feeling the benefits and am determined to stick at it! :)

That app looks good. I am looking for something similar for android.

I tried out cushions on a recent mindfulness 'taster day' and I liked them but because I can't keep my back straight I find sitting against something or laying down best for me.

You are totally right about needing to experiment with getting the best set up. I have struggled to keep up my practice in the last week but am starting to find a time, position and room setting that works for me.

I like incense so I always light some as part of preparing my space. These little things seem to help centre me a bit before I start to meditate. As Tescos say - every little helps!

If you like incense during meditation.. maybe you should take a look at this. You might like it : )

It uses incense to time meditation periods. It's made just for people like us.

enjoy.

That is a good idea and looks lovely but sadly too expensive for me :-)
