Could Not Find Peace in the Frantic world, Yet!

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

I agree with Jon. If one can't even prioritize one's life to find 30-60 min per day, then just don't bother with mindfulness at all. This commitment is actually the most important part of it, in my opinion. If one did nothing else than just sit in the garden for 45 minutes every day, listening to the birds, one would be well on one's way.

In fact one of my favourite ways to practice is to sit outside and listen to all the different sounds that I hear.

Yep, me too..

In addition to what I wrote above, I like to add that it doesn't matter if we mis a day or two. It should never become an obsession.

I couldn't agree more with Peter and Gareth. Well said, chaps.
These days, when I'm teaching mindfulness, I make a point about underlying the need for a certain amount of commitment from the start. I say to people, 'If you can't find the time, then you are going to need to make the time.'
I keep hearing about mindfulness apps, mindfulness jigsaws and all kinds of stuff. Nothing wrong with any of it, per se. But I can't see that it's going to make a jot of difference unless it's married to a regular practice.
Practice. There's no way around it.
Maybe people should think about watching a bit less television in the evening?
Cheers,
Jon

Exactly Jon. One could say, the more one is looking for shortcuts, the further away from the essence one is.
