New Mindfulness Book

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

i've just got a copy of "the mindful way workbook" it comes with cd of practices.
practices are longer than fpiafw, with 40 minute body scan and a 38 minute sitting.
it follows the latest mbct course.
my boss/ mentor says it's good but i'm just starting it now so i'll get back when i've finished.

It would seem to be a companion book to Mark Williams' excellent A Mindful Way Through Depression. I'd be most interested to hear how this one shapes up.

i've had a quick look through, jon kabat zinn speaks highly of it and the sessions seem well structured.
session 1 reads almost like being in a session, lots to read , do the body scan, or raisin practice, and then fill in answers as to what you noticed as in an inquiry.

We are going to have to figure out a way to best incorporate these books into the site, to support those working through them. I guess it will come with time.

It's a good book. I'm up to session 3 now.
even the chapters before the sessions start are packed with info. info that could make a big change to how someone sees things.
Reading it is just like being in a session although without all the others!
I know I'm only part way through but I think it's a book that is worth every penny. More so if it can be borrowed from a library ;-)
it's one of those books that is very easy to read.
