Mindfulness Alphabet

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

Does such a thing exist? I ask because it will help break down the barriers for beginners when first trying to get their head around the practice. It could make a useful reference guide.

Perhaps we could start one on this thread and have one of the experienced mindful practitioners check it over and make any required changes. It could then be pinned somewhere on the "Beginning The Practice" forum?

Example:

A is for Awareness: brief description
B is for Breath: brief description
C is for Control: You can't stop thoughts arising but you can control your reactions to them.

Good idea? Bad idea? Already been done?

I can't think what we'd do for X or Z. ;)

Have a mess around with the idea and see where you get. If the product comes out well. it's always something we could share through the site.

You can usually control your reactions. I'm sure even the most hardcore practitioner jumps on the odd thought now and again.

A is for Acceptance: Bring mindful acceptance to your emotions and sensations.

I'm just an amateur so please feel free to change/enhance.
