First One In!

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

Happy birthday to us!

It's one year ago since this forum was set up, and I think we've made great progress in that year, with only a couple of bumps in the road.

This was the first ever topic in the forum. I expect Fiona's practice has come a long way since then. What say you Fiona?

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank her lots. She has continued to breathe life into this forum since this very first post.

Thank you Gareth, I really appreciate that :)

My practice has changed in that it feels a very normal and everyday (see what I did there ;) ) part of my life but I still try to cultivate the beginners mind. I have met and made some lovely new friends and feel our community is a strong one that keeps growing.

This time two and a half years ago I was being taken to theater for emergency brain surgery with no guarantee I would ever wake up again. It was life changing in many ways, not least because it acts as a regular prompt to live in the moment :)
