Finding Positives

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

I find a lot of peace in noticing the little things like that too Jon. I posted before about standing at my usual bus stop and hearing a noise I couldn't place. Eventually I realised it was the leaves rustling. For years I had stood there and never heard that noise. It was tiny but still profound for me.

I used to say my mind just wasn't capable of meditation or even sitting still for a few moments without doing something or thinking about something but that has changed over time. The brain is a wonderful thing, mine exploded but with help it's not done a bad job of not just mending itself but sort of improving itself and allowing me to be open to the idea of mindfulness. :)
“Being mindful means that we take in the present moment as it is rather than as we would like it to be.”
