Essential reading for non-eight week programme students

Post here if you are just starting out with your mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is a really difficult concept to get your head around at first, and it might be that you would benefit from some help from others.

Hello everyone. I am learning mindfulness and am not keen on the books offering the 8 week courses as I prefer to freestyle my practice a bit more than the 8 week MBCT/MBSR allows.

Which books would you consider essential reading? I have read The Miracle of Mindfulness by Thich Nhat Hahn and Mindfulness in Plain English by Bante G. Which others would you recommend?

Thanks, Jon. I read Full Catastrophe Living but found it a had read. I'll have a look at his others, though, thanks.
