A little mindfulness humor

Suddenly I'm noticing articles and things about mindfulness everywhere. We're they always there, but I'm just being mindful about them now?

And when I did my sitting today I let my inner voice be Billy Crystal doing Jon Kabat Zin. "Hello Thought. Nice to see you. I'm glad you came, but if you'll excuse me now I'm going to go back to my breath. I'm not rejecting you, really, it's just that I'm going to go back to my breath right now. Have a good life. Now where was I? Oh yeah. In. Out. In. Out. I see a little thought hiding there. Hello. Do you mind if I go back to my breathing? Thank you!"

Probably not perfectly mindful, but it was amusing. And after a few minutes it took too much effort so I was able to drop more easily into more formal meditation. It made what has become a bit of a chore a joy today.
