Just thought I'd let you know that I went to the East Midlands happiness event at the weekend, which was a great day. I had lots of fun, and I met some contacts that might help us to progress what we are doing here.

The East Midlands group is being set up as an 'Action For Happiness' group, so there was a representative from 'Action For Happiness' there to give a talk. I don't know if any of you are aware of this group, but they are trying to do fantastic things, and one of the recommendations they talk about for leading a happier life is, you guessed it: mindfulness. I think this is a really important organisation that is really going places, they tweet the most amazing things and their site is great too - they have even been mentioned to Barrack Obama recently. Their representative encouraged me to get in touch with them and let them know what we are doing here; he seemed to think that they might be able to help us in some way. Let's hope so. I plan to make contact with them soon.

The other contact was the mindfulness teacher from Leicester who gave a short class, to which I nodded wisely the whole way through. He runs a a not-for-profit organisation of mindfulness teachers, getting mindfulness out to people. He was a very down-to-earth guy who spoke about mindfulness in the same plain terms that I like to. I will be contacting him soon too, to see if he can help us out/come on board with this project.

I think these are important messages that I will be sending, so if anybody wants to contribute to their content, then please let me know

That all sounds really positive, brilliant! I am aware of Action For Happiness and have browsed their site before but not for a long time. It sounds like something we could really get on board with as a site.

The Mindfulness teacher would be very welcome addition here too. I have been thinking about exploring the options of Mindfulness teacher training and I know Jon has plans in that area too :) Seems like that was a both enjoyable and productive day for you Gareth and perhaps the rest of the community.
